A collection of Suffolk’s leading business women have met in Lowestoft to ensure trade and industry in the county is making the most of the social media.

The Lowestoft & Waveney Chamber of Commerce Coast Business Women’s Network and Suffolk Chamber’s Suffolk  Business Women’s Network, supported by Suffolk County Council, joined forces to bring over 30 business women together to share best practice on the use of social media such as Facebook, Linked In and Twitter.

“We have some of the most talented and hard working women in the UK involved in whole range of businesses,” said Michelle Gardner from the Lowestoft & Waveney Chamber of Commerce. “Together, with their skills and hard work they are a fundamental part of leading our economy through these challenging times.”

The event was addressed by Beccie Simpson of Hot Gossip Social Media who explained the benefits of using social media in businesses and Amanda Ankin of Suffolk Business Women.

“We were delighted that two professionals with such wide experience as Beccie and Amanda could join with us and share their views,” Michelle added.  “This event brought business women together throughout the county, giving us the opportunity to expand business contacts which is what networking events are all about.”
